- SWIMMING: If you are looking to enjoy a little time under the summer sun, then you needn’t look any further! Indulge yourself with splashes and sunshine at our on-site pool. Beating the heat of the day is easy here and the kids might love it too! The pool is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.and is sure to please those of you looking to sit back under the soothing shade of the table umbrella to read or to watch the kids play for hours on end. The Smokey mountain winds will provide the breeze, so it’s your time to enjoy and relax…
- TETHER BALL / CORN HOLE / HORSESHOES: Play a game or two with your family and friends and release the stress and turn on the happy vibe! We have Tether Ball in the grassy field for some fast paced ball action. Or play Corn Hole and have an exciting little doubles or singles match. For those looking for some simple and lazy fun, there are two horseshoe pits just nearby. Try your skill at shooting for the “ringer”. Don’t worry if you miss a few times; this is one of the only games where the closest, is good enough to win! 🙂
- NATURE WALK: Take a walk throughout the beautiful green campground and discover the wide variety of wildlife that call this place home. Here at Rose Creek Campground and Cabins we have many nesting birds to discover. Be on the look out for Finches, Mountain Bluebirds, Red Breasted Robins, Carolina Wrens, Cardinals, Bluejays, Woodpeckers and so many more.
If you raise your eyes up high to the sky, you may even catch a glimpse of a magnificent bird of prey such as a Red Tailed Hawk or one of the Great Horned Owls which reside high up within the canopy of trees. Sometimes, Wild Ducks stop by for a swim in the pond, while colored Dragonflies dance over the water. As nightfall approaches, there is plenty of room down at the field behind the birdhouse row, to watch the amazing Fireflies light up the air like low flying stars. The children are sure to be amazed! There are also plenty of cute furry animals to see, such as White Tailed Rabbits, Gray Squirrels and even White Tailed Deer. As evening falls, you can be witness to the orchestra of summer frogs and woodland crickets announcing the presence of nature. Just allow their rhythm to lull you to sleep… In addition to the abundance of birds and little legged creatures here to see for the Nature Lover, there is a wide variety of woodland plant species that grow here. The Black Mulberry tree, Black Walnut trees, Black and White Pines, Wild Berry bushes are just a few of them.
Also, not to miss are the ever enchanting wildflowers like Jasmine, Lavender, Wild Roses, Violets, Dandelions and more. And while you are taking this fascinating stroll be sure to look down at the ground from time to time, especially if you enjoy crystal or rock collecting because Garnets, Moonstones, Smokey Quartz and even a few Sapphires have been found on the dirt roads here!
